About me – Bahati Orlendo “Bahati”

Welcome to my corner of creativity, curiosity, and impact!

I’m Bahati, a dedicated professional blending expertise in IT, sustainability, and leadership to drive meaningful change. My journey started in rural Kenya, where I first witnessed the power of resourcefulness and resilience from my loving parents, grand parents and community I grew up surrounded by. One of my greatest career achievement in life was during the time I was volunteering at St. Catherine Special School where I worked with students who where being engaged in vocational training on several aspects of life skills such as capentry, livestock rearing and farming. I recall one particular student at the Insitute who I noticed had similar interests as mine, during my time there, I guided him in tree nursery care and management to a level that; later on we where able to set-up a nursery at his home place which he looks after and sells seedlings for income. He has become an inspiration to myself and other students. These early experiences inspired a lifelong passion for finding innovative solutions to complex challenges, whether in technology, sustainable development, or community empowerment.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—technical program manager, sustainability advocate, data enthusiast, and mentor. I’ve successfully managed international projects at the International Foundation for Science, EU-funded projects, implemented Salesforce CRM systems to track sustainability metrics, and supported community-driven initiatives that uplift others. My work has taken me across continents, from Africa, to Europe and Asia, allowing me to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, teach sustainability strategies, and lead groundbreaking initiatives. Wherever I go my inner drive is a force of change and to uplift humanity.

Outside the office, you’ll find me spending time with my wife and 2 kids, at the gym, hiking through nature, playing football, or diving into thought-provoking books on resilience and personal growth. These passions fuel my belief in shaping intentions, staying true to oneself, and finding balance in every endeavor—whether it’s navigating a forest trail or steering a complex project to success.
